The opioid overdose epidemic in the United States continues to be an urgent public health crisis. In 2017, alone, over 70,000 deaths in the United States were attributable to drug overdose, the majority of which involved opioids. Justice-involved populations are disproportionately affected by opioid overdose, and an estimated one-third of individuals who use heroin are also justice involved.
A multi-faceted web-based resource was developed to advance the field by providing practical information to corrections stakeholders and others looking to implement treatment programs for justice-involved individuals.
