RI Reentry Alliance

The Rhode Island Reentry Alliance (RIRA) is a partnership among community leaders, stakeholders, and providers who serve justice-involved Rhode Islanders. All RIRA members commit to helping formerly incarcerated individuals live healthy, successful lives and avoid further justice-involvement.

Launched in October 2022, RIRA is the natural evolution of the Rhode Island Reentry Collaborative, an initiative established in 2018 through a federal Second Chance Act grant designed to improve the continuity of care for individuals reentering RI communities from prison. As the work of the collaborative grant evolved, so did the vision for how community-based providers can better communicate and coordinate services. The Center for Health + Justice Transformation (CHJT) leveraged the lessons learned from leading that work and pivoted that collaborative synergy toward a more strategic and sustainable alliance model.

The vision of the RI Reentry Alliance is for all justice-involved Rhode Islanders to have the supports and resources needed to live healthy, successful lives. RIRA envisions a strong network of community and professional partners that successfully coordinates transitional services and reentry supports across the state of Rhode Island.

The mission of the RI Reentry Alliance is to lead and advocate for local change that is led by lived experience and aims to improve the coordination and quality of reentry services and supports across Rhode Island.
