Adriana Dawson
Adriana Dawson is the Director of Community Engagement for Verizon. In this newly created role, Ms. Dawson is responsible for leading and expanding Verizon’s partnership network and community footprint. In this capacity, she also oversees the Verizon Foundation, Verizon Volunteers, and collaborates with the partner network to deliver digital literacy and STEM related workshops and educational opportunities to assist LMI individuals, communities, and small businesses.
Prior to joining Verizon, Ms. Dawson was the Vice President of Community Development at BankNewport. She was responsible for implementing and administering all strategic aspects of the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Program. She spearheaded the Bank’s urban expansion efforts and successfully led BankNewport through their CRA federal examination.
Ms. Dawson has held leadership roles at Roger Williams University and served as the first female State Director for the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center where she was recognized nationally for her work. Adriana currently serves on a number of statewide boards and commissions dedicated to improving the economic self-sufficiency of individuals and families.
Dawson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Northeastern University and holds a Master of Arts in Management Communication from Emerson College. Adriana is a proud Rhode Island native and currently resides in Pawtucket with her husband and daughter.
