Rep. Liana Cassar, MPH, MBA
Over the past 25 years, my research career has evolved to include the study of HIV/AIDS, addiction, and incarceration. Incarcerated populations are disproportionately impacted by the opioid overdose epidemic, and as a clinician and researcher, I have worked to advocate for and expand access to medications for opioid use disorder in correctional facilities.
During this moment in history when new approaches to addiction care are urgently warranted, my research aims to evaluate innovative treatments in correctional settings.
